Approximately 14 months planning was involved in the preparation for the safe delivery of the event. The Safety Officer consulted with Portsmouth City Council, The Royal Navy, Hampshire Police, HM Coast Guard, royalty protection and the event organisers to ensure all contingencies were planned and in place for an event at sea viewed primarily from the land.
